A New Year’s Eve Tasting menu like no other
At KOA, we have created a welcoming yet modern environment where our diners can savour a variety of carefully thought out and put together dishes. Every element which you will find on our menu has been strategically chosen for its flavours and harmonisation with other products in our dishes. This New Year’s Eve we want to take you on a gastronomic journey, taking you through a whirlwind of flavours across 6 courses which are accompanied with perfectly balanced wine pairings. No menu would be complete without the New Year’s extras, which is why following our 6 courses our guests will enjoy petit fours, a party bag and of course the 12 grapes of good luck for when midnight strikes so that you can live a traditional Mallorcan New Year’s Eve.
Take a gastronomic journey
We kick off the first course almost immediately after you enter our stylish restaurant with a welcome cocktail and an assortment of appetizers, something to tempt your palate and prepare you for the following courses.
For the second course we head to the sea with a grilled Norwegian lobster with red curry, hazelnut oil pearls and a light cucumber salad, this course is accompanied by a glass of Macià Batle, a wine of 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Continuing with the stars of the sea we move on to the third course, grilled Hake, roasted red peppers with mint, almonds and sautéed vegetables, paired with Cíes, a 100% Albariño wine.
After two seafood courses it’s time to go in land and move on to another type of protein. We present a Wagyu ribeye steak, pumpkin puree with yuzu and mustard, a smoked cashew cream, potatoes and Chinese black tea, with such a fine cut of beef there is only one wine pairing which can elevate its flavours, and that is the 12 Volts Bio, a rich mix of Merlot, Syrah, Callet and Cabernet Sauvignon.
With only two courses to go, it’s time to move in to the dessert portion of the night. We initiate this section with a lemon and vanilla slush with shiso ice cream, a light dish to cleanse the palate and get you ready for the finale. A coconut ganache with tandoori spices, a tangerine ice cream and a peanut crumble, accompanied by a glass of Veritas Mantodolç, a sweet and mild red made with 100% Mantonegro. All of this will be available this New Year’s Eve 2018 at our restaurant in La Lonja. Welcome in the New Year in the metropolitan yet historically rich city which we call home, Palma de Mallorca.
