Whoever explores the streets of Palma falls in love at first sight. It happens a lot, due to its streets charm which hide so much history. Explore the city from the medieval town and walk through its narrow streets until you lose yourself is a pleasant experience.
Many follow the route from la Rambla, passing by the Passeig des Born or the Palacio Real de la Almudaina and arrive to the Cathedral that has some spectacular views of the Parc de la Mar and the Paseo Marítimo.
Palma is a place where you can regularly enjoy the street music artists which include Spanish guitars and artisanal instruments.
Those who continue towards the Paseo Marítimo from the Cathedral towards the right, will find themselves in the Barrio de la Lonja, a perfect place to satisfy your appetite. It is a district with elegant buildings with tall roofs and with gothic style architecture. Its interior is made up of bars, cafes, clubs and restaurants such as Koa, where you can savour dishes created with exotic flavours.
If you love to discover new places filled with charm we want to propose two alternative walking options to cover the streets of Palma or its outskirts: the motorbike and the bicycle.
Cover Palma at the stroke of a pedal
Mallorca has an ideal climate to be able to ride a bicycle any day of the year. An alternative to walking and to explore the streets of Palma is to grab your bike and pedal. And if you don’t have one you can rent a bike, any day that you wish to.
It is the perfect option for cycling lovers, ideal also for those who are less fit, given that you can do short routes through the centre of the city or something a little further, surrounding Palma.
Just as much through the old town as the outskirts of the city exist many bike lanes to explore the best routes. From the Plaza de España to the Paseo Marítimo, entering you through the streets of Palma; or from the Playa de Palma to the shopping centre of Porto Pi, covering the marvellous views of the port with an incredible collection of boats.
Mallorca by motorbike
Now you have no excuse to get to know each corner of Palma or take an excursion through the Serra de Tramuntana. Because another alternative which we want to suggest is to spend a few days of luxury exploring Mallorca by renting a motorbike and let yourself find beaches, mountains, museums or the centre of the capital.
With some motorbike rental companies you have the option to do excursions with the company, from Es Baluard, passing through Esporles, Sa Foradada, Valldemossa and returning again to the starting point.
Koa Restaurant in Palma: A gastronomic journey
What better way to end your journey on wheels than with a gastronomic journey: tasting different flavours and textures in the Barrio de la Lonja, in the restaurant Koa. As we have mentioned previously, it is located in the heart of the capital of Mallorca. There you will find a modern atmosphere with a menu that will invite you to try each and every one of their dishes.
And on a gastronomic journey you can’t miss out on a delicious cocktail. Our signature cuisine defines us and our creative cocktails are our forte, don’t hesitate any longer, end the night in our bar-lounge with a tasty cocktail.
