The head Bartender at elBarri, Marc Álvarez, visits the KOA restaurant to fill us in and share with all of us what he does in his day to day life. During his visit he explains to us the concept of Gastronomy: gastronomy also encompasses the world of cocktail making.
Álvarez considers that there is no better place than KOA restaurant to go to talk about what he does, he describes us as a restaurant where the gastronomy is cared for in all its variants.
The purpose of this visit is to show, just as much the team at KOA as all of the participants, the relationship and dialogue in-between the solid and the liquid. That is to say, the relationship between the food and the cocktails.
The bartender assures that both disciplines can be done understanding one from the other and complementing one another without a doubt, given that both are found within gastronomy.
An afternoon filled with learning at the KOA restaurant full of people interested in the world of cocktail making. The participants paid a lot of attention to everything Álvarez was doing and they had the pleasure of trying some other cocktails made by the famous bartender. In addition, we were able to understand that gastronomy is not only and exclusively food, but you have to go further and see that the cocktail business also forms part of it.
Marc Álvarez is known for participating in various competitions such as the world competition of bartenders by Bombay Sapphire representing Spain a few years ago. Currently, he is the Head Bartender at elBarri brought to you from the brothers Albert and Ferran Adriá.
